I have a Savv brand rear view mirror monitor model #LBM-430BT as well as a Performance Technique rear view license plate frame with camera, model ICBM-CAM.

The rearview mirror has a 12v fused power wire, a black ground wire, and a pair of video In rca cables. The license plate camera only has 4 wires: red, black, yellow, & white.

I am wondering if I'm missing something to install this as I received what is pictured only. Any ideas? My head unit does not have video rca's, but I don't see why that would make a difference.

The instructions and wiring diagram would be helpful in determining whether you have all of the parts.

Well I've had no success. Not sure if I should buy a new camera or not. I seen this camer/monitor working in my co-workers car before it was removed due to him trading in the car. I spliced a yellow rca cable to connect to 2 of the 4 wires coming from the camera (rca's cable end was cut off) and tried all possible connections. The camera's infrared lights come on, the map lights on the rearview come on, but the monitor never turns on.

Which wires from the camera did you splice the rca cable to?

The center conductor of the rca should go to the yellow wire which is normally standard for video. The shield of the rca cable would tie to the camera's black negative lead which should also be grounded somewhere.

Center wire on the rca to the yellow and the shield wire that wraps around it to the black wire from the rearview camera also grounded to the battery. The rearview screen never turned on.

Only ground the shield to one place/end. You can get current flowing through the shielding if the potential of the grounds are different.

Good on the video. What about the white wire? That may need to connect to a switched source like the backup lights. That might turn on the video output with would then make the mirror turn on.

The white wire off the camera I ran to 12v and still nothing.

I've been testing it on a bench with a battery rather than keep taking things on the car apart.

Time to test each separately.

Connect a know good video source like a dvd player to the mirror and see if it comes on. Manual says it should turn on automatically with a video signal present. Try both inputs. Says the second input overrides the first which would be logical for the backup camera.

If that all plays, then need to see if feeding the camera input into TV will show anything.
