Top Dog,
Good question. The "Competitive License" fee may be misleading to some. There is no "license" given to participants. It is the fee to permit attendees to participate in the Autocross, Road Course, Drags, Sound-Off and Car Show. Without requesting to have the Competitive license, you would be attending to observe and not participate in any events.
We did it different this year to encourage attendees to participate in as many events as possible and to make it more affordable by lumping all events into one very low price. We have actually rented the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, so you will have the run of the place without other makes of cars. We want everyone to have fun and enter as many events as they want without having to pay for each.

I might add to Sam`s excellent explanation, you would not believe the many thousands of dollars it costs to rent a venue of that magnitude.Add in liability ,security etc.it is a huge endeavor.

It costs a small fortune to put on the Nationals, trust me on this. :D
