Hey guys,

So my car came with a Viper 5901 installed but it was installed terribly and all the wires were just twisted together so its a mess. I gave up on trying to get everything in order so I just want to remove it.

I looked at wiring diagrams and I don't think any factory wires are cut from what I can tell. So is removing an alarm as simple as removing the module and its wiring? I just want to make sure so I don't run into issues with the car not starting. My car is a 1996 Impala if it makes a difference.

Any advice or help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

PS I tried to search but the links I found were dead so if this has been answered before sorry for the new thread.

Yes, why not take it to an authorized Viper location and have them fix?

To remove the alarm you'll have to do more than just disconnecting all of the connectors at the brain interface.

Thanks for the replies guys. I got a few quotes to get it done right but the job was so poorly done that every shop either had to buy new harnesses or even a new alarm. It was a feature I was happy to have when I got the car but when I was replacing the brake switch I saw how bad it was.

But I got everything out this morning. Since the wires were just twisted together it basically pulled right out. Besides the vats wiring and one ignition wire, everything was just tapped into. Now everything works as it should.
