The motor is out of the car with most of the water out of it but I don't want do buy a new opti If it gets water on it

the trouble starts when the water is sucked in, not just getting on it, like when the engine is running an a vacuum is formed from the vent hoses

remove the knock sensors and drain the block.
vacuum all the water out dry with a shop vac out of the pump, then remove the pump, you'll be fine. once vacuum can't get water out of it gravity won't either.

looking at the front of the engine, pull the lower right (drivers side) water pump bolt,
should drain whatever water is left in the block below the waterpump.
