I haven't rec'd a magazine in a while and finally realized I didn't get a renewal notice this year. I can't remember when my renewal date is. Can someone help? My member number is 536.
Thanks!

Craig,

According to the member data base, your renewal was due in March.

Why doesn't ISSCA send out Notices for membership dues?

Tom,

ISSCA does send out reminders both before and after renewal/expiration dates.

In some cases, the member may not have kept their address information up to date and the reminder doesn't get to them. In other cases, there is no way of knowing if the member did in fact receive a reminder, but every effort is made to do some sort of reminder.

Every issue of Impala SScene has a mailing label, and it tells the member what their renewal date is.

Also, the ISSCA member badge that is sent to each mamber when joining or upon renewal has an Expires: (date) right on it.

The cost in both additional postage and staff effort to send out reminders is one of the areas that ISSCA has to look at--whether it is worth the effort to budget (more?) for this, etc--if there is a way that better results are achieveable, all suggestion are welcome.

We always have to remember that not every ISSCA member sees these Forum postings, so let's hope that if any ISSCA member knows of others who don't frequent this site, they'll do their part to make them aware of the renewal process--check their badge, if they aren't sure, or if you hear of a complaint that someone hasn't received a magazine. We are ALL volunteers--help out if you can!!! :D

Why not make all renewals due Januay 1 each year. that way a renewal notice could be as simple as a post to the forum, ....remember this is January and time to renew your membership. That way one mass reminder mailing, maybe in December, would do it.

Just a thought. I am a member of the Aerostar Owners Association (It's an airplane) as a Technical Consultant and that is the way they do it, but they get $175 per year for basically the same services provided by ISCCA for $40. Maybe our ISCCA dues need to be raised, that would help put an end to all that talk in the ISSCA misc forum about changing the club charter to allow W-body Impala SS cars into the club charter.

I would gladly pay more $$$ to help keep ISCCA true to its origional "mission statement" 94-96 Impala SS and related b and d-body breathern.
(with all due respect to w-body cars and owners)

That is it for now.....Thank you

SO going on that idea, my renewal is in Oct. Should I pay $40 in Oct, and then pay again in Jan?

Or should we just say let it slide until Jan?

Then all of the guys that have paid upto this point, would raise hell.

About the above post, no proration if you join mid year and are crying about being hit again the next comming January, come on guys were talking about $.1095 (less then eleven cents) per day here!!! You could give a break ending June 31st,I guess, Memberships before that, full fare, after that 1/2 off. Then come the following January everybody pays full boat for the comming year.

Remember this is an all voulinteer organization, need to keep the administration headaches to a minimum. No, it may not be exactly fair but it would be real close, and any unused membership from your first year could be considered a small donation to the club, especially if you do the ...after June 30th 1/2 off thing. You can allways feel good about that. Changing over could be as simple as letting the last 90 dayers (Oct,Nov,Dec) get a one time free ride until Jan I.

Bob : we (ISSCA) looked at doing renewals that way. Basically, it makes MORE work (keeping in mind this is a volunteer organization) on the admin end to do it that way....easier to space it out over the course of a year.

Ed,

Whatever works best for those that have to do the job. If you'all ever need a helping hand (volunteer) with this subject or anything else give a yell and if there is anything that I can do to help, I will.

Thank you,
Bob McCoy
