Has anyone measured F&R ride height before and after new spring install? After 140k, looking for new springs,but would like a starting point.I seem to believe that there may be some sag in the current springs.

When I put on the Eibachs, I lowered the car to the ground, drove it to my neighbor's driveway (paved, level) and measured it. My State Trooper buddy looked on. 12.5" to the bottom of the bumper. Ooops! 1.5" illegal! 14" is the min. height in VA! He didn't care and I've never been stopped for it.

The back end didn't come down far enough, IMO, and I'm toying with the idea of cutting the rear springs about an inch or so.

I parked next to a stock Roadmaster wagon this morning and took some casual measurements.....My Caprice is 2.5" below it's ride height. That doesn't sound like a heck of a lot, but a little drop in ride height makes a big difference in the car's appearance.

Post some pics if you drop it, and let us know what springs you use. InTrax is another consideration, available through Summit Racing Equipment.

Nope. You can't do that because of the way the pigtails are on the rears. You can only cut coils on the fronts. (w/o having to go an do surgery on the spring mounting points on the axle/frame/blah blah blah...)

My mistake, I should have been more clear. What I mean is to take them to a spring shop here in town to see if they can take an inch off and rework it. I'm not sure how they'd do it, or if they even can, because I imagine they'd have to heat the things to rework it to the original shape and may end up changing the properties of the metal and it's springiness.

Then again it's a spring shop, so they should be able to something with 'em.

I would not touch the springs with heat... it changes the grain in the metal forever, and it's pretty much imposible to get it back to original...so I say buy other springs, maybe springs that are designed for custom hot rods might have something compatible with the Caprice.
