So was informed the other day my LR taillights weren't working properly.
Today I tore into it and found out why.

Good grief! Nice workmanship by someone.
Appears to be accident damage related.
No grommet any longer just half a tube of RTV slathered around the damaged hole it passed through.

Luckily I have a spare from the '96 POS RMW I bought for parts.

Couldn't leave the hole all distorted/bent up so beat it flat again. Had to yank the rear bumper to get @ it. The metal bumper underneath was in bad shape so cleaned it up and painted it.

I also still have the bumper cover from the RMW that's in better shape. So I'll paint that one and install it.

Hey Babe. At least the Genieass matched the correct colors. I was surprised there were no wire nuts. As always you're on it.

Just look at that solder everywhere. And no gum! I've seen way way worse. Maybe the poor bloke was just working on a shoestring. See how he had only 3 crimps left to his name? And couldn't even afford electrical (or duct or even scotch) tape.

I'm actually a little envious (jealous?) of that crap wiring. Look at all the refit & repair therapy it's giving you. ;)
