Awesome job guys! Way to get it done correctly twice no less.
2005 ($260) & 2007 ($389) PO paid...I wouldn't have!

Seriously though, what a hack(s) who did the work on the PS of my car!

Screwed up the shaft of the pump, presumably pressing the pulley on incorrectly.
Also messed up the pulley.
Guess only 2 bolts are really required to hold the pump to the bracket. The 3rd STRIPPED bolt was nicely wedged in between the pump and bracket I presume for safekeeping.

Thanks dude, here's a tip...if you don't like doing the job correctly might find a new line of work.

Ack....found some more service records, looks like these hacks did a diagnosis & tune up as well...:frown2:

Ignition wires (would explain why they aren't routed correctly, aren't using the metal brackets, and incorrect locations of wires on opti.)
ACDelco platuim spark plugd (lol sp?)
Water pump

Did a few other things, serpentine belt and synthetic diff fluid exchange.

$1100 dollars was the invoice total!

You shouldn't be surprised at all.
A tire shop??......come on! They're exceeding the norm if they can mount and balance tires without screwing something up...lol!
Unless you PERSONALLY KNOW and TRUST the person doing the work, don't EVER let them touch anything else but tires!

Agreed...A tire Shop? At this point I don't even think I would trust a Dealer to work on our old cars. But to their defense, they need to get the car in and out in a timely fashion and obviously took shortcuts with the wires. The wires can be very time consuming and frustrating.

This is why it is best to turn your own wrenches or learn how to on an older car. If not, you will always be at their mercy and footing the Bill for most likely shoddy work or at least not being done correctly. These old girls, just like real girls, need a little TLC from time to time. Lots 'o Help here and info on most of the common maintenance/repair stuff.

I will say that the Plug Wires alone are enough to intimidate the most savvy mechanic but is doable if you take your time. But it is extremely important that they are routed and secured properly or you're just asking for problems later. If you wish to re-do the wires, and I would strongly recommend you consider it, there are a few threads on how to do this properly. The worst is the Right Side of the engine where the Accessory Bracket is. I have a thread with Pictures and some Nice Wire Separators from MSD that worked really well with the Stock Brackets and ran the wires in their correct orientation.

EDIT - Forgot to mention on the Synthetic Diff Oil. IIWY, I would consider dumping it and going with Dino Oil and the limited Slip additive. I used Royal Purple Synthetic and the rear would chatter and skip when making turns. Switched it out to reg. Gear Oil and additive and the problem was instantly fixed. At least RP to their credit returned my Money.

I'm not surprised, just sad and now a little scared! Somewhat amazed actually too, that it is still running decent @140k.
Considering the plug wires have been flopping around for 65k.

At least a PO "tried" to take car of it, too bad there are mechanics out there that just don't give a crap, and do shoddy work.
This kind of stuff is EXACTLY why I don't let shops touch my vehicles, unless I absolutely have to.

FYI - On that Diff Oil, I assumed you had a Posi Rear and yours may not be. If it's an Open rear then you may be fine with what you have.

Not trying to scare you with the type of Gear Oil Selected and it may not be causing issues like I saw and also read about. My issue happened immediately with the Royal Purple change and fixed once I changed it back.
