Did you all read this?

(FYI when I started this thread it was in MISK, this sub-forum didn't exist, and the other thread was locked)

Hello Members!

Since we created this website back in 2000, it has grown by leaps and bounds – and so has the amount of maintenance that is required to keep things running smoothly. As many of you are well aware, over the past year or so, I have not been able to devote as much time and attention as I used to towards system maintenance. In order to help return the site to a more efficient level, I have chosen to sell the Forum to a company called AutoGuide, which operates hundreds of automotive forums – they will take over the hosting and maintenance of the website. Because of all of the problems we were experiencing with my previous hosting company, the website has already been copied over to AutoGuide’s servers – this should help keep the website running smoothly.

Although AutoGuide is taking over the operational aspects of the website and you may see some changes appear as a result, the forum itself should not be greatly affected. I will still be involved with the website as much as time permits, and the existing moderator staff will still maintain their rights and roles in the forum. At some point in the near future, additional staff will be brought on board to provide extra assistance to the community. The vast majority of the forum’s existing rules and regulations will stay in place – the last thing we want to do is negatively impact your experience on this website. So please buckle up and have fun while we attempt to make this website even better!

Wait, the only reason a company would buy it is to earn a profit.

Does this mean we will now be inundated with ad's?
where was this originaly posted at????
that ****ing sucks ehh....family owned to company owned....seen this a few too many times

i guess half of us will be banned with in the first few weeks.
See you boys in Hell.
I am sure scott had good reasons to do what he did. He listed them above. I just hope the forum keeps the same feel and the same people stay around... Its been a 10 year chunk of my life, and have made friends i never would have otherwise met.

Lets all cross our fingers and give scott our support!
Hold on guys.

Let's not get out of hand. The new rules are the very close to the same, the wording is a little different. We already have language filters in place and it was in our rules of conduct. There will be no mass banning of members and I will still be the main go to guy on the Forum.

As for the Misc section, I believe it will stay in place and I will speak to them about the Cabaret.

Please do not blow up and fly off the handle. It is still business as usual.
Scott,

I can assume that the current moderators will stay in place but will there be new mods to account for?
As a team of automotive and power sports enthusiasts here at AutoForums.com, we are pleased to announce that we have come to an agreement with Scott at Impalassforum.com, reliving him of all the burden of an administrative tasks and hoisting issues. AutoForums.com brings staff on, and an infrastructure to ensure Impalassforum.com will be around for years. It’s our goal to provide the resources required to have a broader reach and attract more knowledgeable people such as yourselves that will contribute to the community.

Having said all this, this is still your community and we are here to work with the current administrative staff to keep this site going. We have upgraded the software the site runs on, this will help to keep the site reliable.

My name is Helena, and I will be the site’s new contact for any issues related to the everyday upkeep of the site. I look forward to working with you and helping you with your concerns and questions. If you have any issues or would like to make input into the site please let me know.

In typical Misc fashion some of the guys are going to want you post up some pictures of your self with your top off. So just beware of the Cracka!
I think ads are based on content. and i think 3 adds / page.

Plus the vendor bar on the site that's it. and if your a premium member there is less.
no topless photos
sorry

i get asked that a lot its ok

so needless to say we are gonna have to start paying for full access to this forum??????? limited access if you are not a premium member??????? and if so how much is it gonna cost us???????
What's a premium member? Perhaps you could be topless in an ad?
alright helena the main questions everyone is wanting to know is, A/S/L and what kind of car/cars you own
I'm more worried about ownership of content.

I don't believe TOS when I signed up mentioned that the site would own the content I've posted as a user, and claim that as their own I.P.

This is probably more of an issue for the people on here who are affiliated with automotive magazines, and are themselves journalists.

Since the content was "sold" did ISSF have a right to transfer ownership of another person's intellectual property?
first off primium membership you still view all content on the forum as usual. it just adds bells an whistles. like getting a deluxe pizza instead of a cheese :)

And i own 1 car ( ford escape ) i live in Canada and im 24 :)

Helps?
