Just wondering which is better … a 250amp alternator or a dual 145amp alternators setup?

As I understand it, you will put out more amps at idle with two 145s. Larger alternators put out less. Just something to keep in mind if you like to bump your system at idle.

My 220 and 180 combo I had on the 93 was doing 280 amps at idle. not too shabby. Too bad you don't have a 5.0L. ;)

Personally I'd rather have a single large alternator, as someone who has rant dual alts... dual kits aren't fun., IMO.

What are you doing that you need 290 amps for anyway?

well... if you're willing to deal with the pain of duals, it would probably be a much better output @ idle... Ive run duals, but not on a b-body (not yet anyways ;) )

Its just that I’m planning on moving my ’15 L7 from my Suburban to the SS, and I only want to be sure that I’m doing everything the “right” way.

P.S: I already got Gary’s cable upgrade.

If you're planning on doing a custom bracket, tell me as I'm sure I would still be interested

I have brackets for a b-body, but unfortunately it's not for an LT1.
