Some "before and after" wagon detail pics

I have been working of detailing a forum member's (DBeaSSt) new OCC I just picked up. I got most of it done these past 2 days. I still need to put another coat of polish on it and then wax it after delivery tomorrow.

Here are some pics to share since we all like to see a wagon spruced up!! I love bringing the paint back to life

I used to detail cars for my Dad but I can't hold a polisher much at all anymore due to the carpal tunnel in my arms

I have a Milwaukee polisher but it weighs a TON and I've been trying to find a replacement that is easier on my arms. What type do you have and what brand of compounds and polish do you prefer?

For weight? I always hear that Flex polishers are the most comfortable, light weight rotary buffers.
That's the lightest I know of...

Thanks guys! I am no pro...but I have been doing this off and on for most of my adult life. Spending some time with Frank (Reconditioner) really helped me step up my game. You wanna learn how to detail well....spend a week with Frank! You will learn a lot (including some new words to add to your vocabulary) I also worked for a body shop for awhile as a painters helper/detailer.

The Milwaukee is what I use for heavy buffing (after I wet sand or to remove heavy oxidation) This model does not have a high max RPM. But it is juust enough for me and keeps me from screwing up. I use Meguiars #105 Ultra Cut Compound.

The Porter Cable DA is for polishing and waxing. Love it!
I use Meguiars #83 Dual Action Cleaner/Polish and then follow it up with the #26 Yellow Wax

How do you like the #23? I bought a bottle and I still have not had a chance to use it.

Idea for those before/after pics: run some tape down the center of the panel to have a before and after in the same pic.

I started out using Mother's products...but switched over a couple years ago to Meguiars after working with Frank. It really is good stuff. Also body shop friendly.

I love the #23. I do use the NXT 2.0 wax sometime too if it is a really nice car.

That's a good idea on the tape! I will do that on the next B-body I get to do

Dude...you will not regret it. If you are just polishing up your car and waxing it...this is all you will need. Light too.
