@helpthe95 -- thank you SO much for this detailed thread. One question: how many of the various clips did you use?
1-way PN# 12132228 (need 2?)
2-way PN# 12132229 (need ?)
3-way PN# 12163607 (need ?)
4-way PN# 12132272 (need 2?)
Thanks a lot in advance for the reply!
Your welcome. I honestly can't remember how many clips each by part number while writing this post. Some of the clips I purchased came "more than one in a pack" and I went from there. I bought them in packs because the price came out much cheaper per clip and with the headache that came with searching and purchasing/shipping cost- I purchased this way to save money/time now and in the future- "and" have them readily available in the event I need them so I don't wind up skipping over any broken clip during a future wire change if they are not available in the future. Some of the singles pack clips available wanted more for shipping than the clip (like 4 times more in shipping). I would have only saved like a dollar or two that way. This is something to think about when purchasing your clips.
With that said, I will do my best to start an answer as I can't recall a definite complete answer to the question without reading. Even then, I could be misleading people. If you can wait, I will check and get back to this post with more information as I would like to reference my answers first by looking at my car and anything documented in this post.
I will start from the front of the car. There are two 4 way clips "one mounted on each side of the front side of the engine". One is mounted on the air pump (drivers side). By the way, the book image at the air pump is not accurate. It looks like its mounted to the block and its not. Its mounted to the air pump. One is mounted on the block-thats the passenger side. Both clips press on to metal arms. The part number I put on my passenger side is the Delphi 12132272. Its pictured above in post #11. I also attached it below. Its not exactly a factory clip (my opinion) as the one on my car didn't have a hinge type clip like this new Delpi 12132272 does. The factory one just clips on with 2 snap barbs-one on each side of the clip. This may be the reason mine was gone. It either fell off or someone didn't clip it on-or clip it on good enough. Mine wasn't broke. The second half of the clip was missing. NOTE: the new hinged clip could be orientated with the hinge on what ever side you choose and feel comfortable at 180 degrees. In other words you can swing the hinge shut one of two choice ways.
The 4 way clip on my drivers side is the factory (my opinion) again "non hinged type". I left that one alone-I reused it. Its pictured in a post above and is fixed to the air pump. So to give my partial answer here I "think" you can use 2 Delphi 12132272 -one each side of the front of the engine. I say you "can use" because I only used one. That "one" I used is the one on the passenger side behind the powersteering pump. Are these Delphi 12132272 4 way clips the correct for both sides? My guess is yes, providing the male end on the metal arm on the air pump bracket is the same as the male end on the metal arm on the passenger side one. Then yes. But, like I said, I only needed the passenger one. So this is my answer. I replaced one Delphi 12132272 4 way on the passenger side front. I reused the drivers side factory non hinged 4 way front clip since there was nothing wrong with it. I attached a photo of my part/part number of the front passenger side clip I used as a replacement. Its holding good. Again, the drivers side is a 4 way but I reused mine. So Yes, the car does use two 4 way clips but I cant guarantee if it holds on the drivers side arm on the pump. Sorry for the long post. This is to be clear on my end of what I did. This post is basically only talking about the two 4 way clips. I will continue to give more answers as I can answer.
