I'm getting ready to install the new Borgeson steering shaft with rebuiilt gear box and ps pump. I would like to paint the steering shaft to prevent rust. I have my eye on a mettalic enamel. Since it's so close to the Quad 1 headers is it necessary to use heat resistant paint or will simple acrylic with a primer underneath be good? There are a lot more color choices for regular acrylic paint enamel so I'd prefer to go with that. I want to avoid flaking and krinkling, and have to do it all again. What do you recommend? Thankss...

No special paint required for that area, at least I didn't use any and have had no problems.
