For all of you guys with extended CA's I would like to give you a peice of advice. I have now done this mod twice on a 91 and 96. If you look at the spring perchs they are off set to the back of the car. So if you cut them off with a zip disc and turn them around 180 they fix the angle on your springs perfectly. Now all you need to do is temperarily put the springs back in apply a little pressure so they dont fall out. Then tac them in place, double check them and then bzzzzz. It works perfect just make sure you weld them in correctly or you will have problems. well thats my 2 cents.

spdycaprice,
Thanks for sharing your experience... You are referring to the upper spring perches, right?

George I would like to clarify on that. It is the lower spring perch’s as by know you must know by looking at Bostics site. Now Bostic no dis respect here but why didn’t you flip them around instead of hammering them and what not. I have measured how much it moves the perch forward by turning it 180 degrees and it comes out to be 7/8’’. Yes you’re right when you say that is a 1/8’’ forward of the stock location. I have done this mod before and when the springs are installed after the mod they are still not straight up and down. As I am assuming your spring are not straight up and down. For all you guys who have not done this mod you should think about it in the near future. When your springs are on an angle like that they change your ride height and your handling. Now it may be very little but you need to remember that a lot of little problems create one big problem which is bad performance.

Thanks, Matt Bartley

spdycaprice & Bostic,
Thank you both for all the show & tell---good stuff... OK, bottom perches, got it! Bostic obviously loves to weld & fit and I bet it was not fun enough for him to just do the 180 on them perches. His photos & handiwork shown are superb, his car must be awsome. If I do finish this mod I will relocate the perches. Hope the axle won't catch fire inside from the short welding period; there is a vent on the pumpkin but it won't extinguish any internal fire, yikes! Cool down with a little water should be OK...

Thanks for the info everyone---George
