Everything will work on the wagons. except rear sway bars. Keep in mind, that the sedan lowering springs on a wagon, will really drop the rear from the extra weight, and the front will actually sit a hair higher.

Since GM no longer produces a replacements for Stock Impala SS rear springs I haven't found anything here on what part numbers to look at that are comparable for an aftermarket spring that would have the same ride height as the original SS rear springs.

It may be there and I missed it somehow, but I've looked several times.

I have been extremely lazy in the last year, and have done virtually no updates... I pretty much log in, glance over thread titles, then leave.
"Monroe 550052 has been replaced by 58574" FYI

So I have been calling around on the monroe shocks and so far they are telling me that the 550012 and 550013 are not for the Impala ss. I have heard they were for the taxis or police cars but can't remember where I seen that. Just want to make sure these will work on my 96 before ordering. Also anyone got a good place to order them?

I have bolt on rear coil over kits, rear adjustable upper control arms, fixed lower control arms, adjustable rear lower control arms with a track locater, anti roll bars, and triangulation braces. All tig welded chrome moly for the lightest and strongest in the industry. I don't see them listed.

Thanks

I just posted my intro. on the site and wanted to say thanks for all the work you put into the suspension section. I just installed a full Hotchkiss suspension front and rear and also did a total front end rebuild. I ordered AirLift airbags to preload the rear springs for towing my Mastercraft ski boat this summer and then saw your info. posted. The bags I ordered were for the stock springs #60786, but then saw that you indicated #60798 for lowered springs. Are the Hotchkiss springs enough of a drop that these would be needed vs. stock? Can you tell me the difference in these bags and where you came about this info.? I appreciate any help you could be here before I install the bags.

Thanks, Steve

AirLift bags w/ Hotchkiss springs

I have ordered AirLift bag # 60786 to pre-load my new Hotchkiss springs for pulling our ski boat this summer, then saw in Mr.Buicks' quite thorough suspension post that # 60798 is indicated for lowered springs. Anyone have any experience w/ this application or know where this reference came from? Thanks, Steve

AirLift bag w/ Hotchkiss springs

Hi Cory,

I tried to get a message to you yesterday to ask why you recommend AirLift bag # 60798 for Hotchkiss springs vs. # 60786 for stock springs. Obviously it must be they are a little shorter, but what experience or application do you know of where this was used? I talked to a tech at Hotchkiss and he said that number was for the front of a Caddy or Buick which makes no sense to me. I need to install one of these two numbers asap so I can pull our boat this weekend and would really appreciate a response if you can. I am new to the site and have not yet successfully posted, but if you could respond under new posts, that would be great! Thanks, Sreve

Wow This stickie was just tagged again in a post and I still can't believe all the effort and work put into collecting and posting the (still incredibly valid) info.

Thanks MrBuick (Magnum)

BEWARE! I sent this guy payment through paypal as a "gift" as HE requested on 8/10/12 for a set of sprint springs, and never received them. He logs on every day but will not return my messages! Due to sending payment as a gift I cannot file a dispute on paypal and I am scammed out of $170!
