So I've just about got rid of all my old audio and have decided on new build. I'm going to end up running old school xtant amps.

Electrical
New alternator w/overdrive pulley and BIG3
2 New Optima Yellowtop D34/78
0 Gauge everywhere (2 runs to rear battery, one pos and one neg)

Highs/Mids - Diamond Audio 6.5" HEX (older version)
Diamond 6.5" Hex (older version) - May delete rear fill. not set

Subs - 2 Oldschool Eclipse 88120 (TC9 motors)

Interior Amp - Xtant x604 - Nice 4 channel
Sub Amp- Xtant x1001 - should put out around 1500 watts of clean pwer

Pics to come...

I'll be using a Kenwood Excelon KDC-x991...

Thinking about running active, need to read up on it though. I've never ran active crossovers... Barely experimenting with the whole car audio scene.

Any suggestions?

I say give active a try, but if those HEX's come with passive crossovers you will probably prefer how that sounds, active is nice when you enjoy tuning your system for hours on end and your using drivers that don't have crossovers, but everyone's ear is different - never hurt to try and you can always go back to passive

those TC9 motor'd eclipses are great btw and they look slick

I went active in my Caprice a couple years ago with my 800PRS. The main reason I did it was to fine tune my tweeters. I'm extremely happy with the way I was able to get everything sounding. It did take some time to get everything to where I thought it sounded good. I was almost ready to go back to a passive setup but decided to read a little more about tuning and TA on DIYMA.
