Seriously, they need volunteers. Mike Schultz performed the duties this year, but so far no one has stepped up to run the event, rather organize the event, for next year. I suspect GASSIT will arrange for the track, same place, same time. But there is quite a bit of effort involved in putting up the Web site, taking the money, securing sponsors, putting together the T-Shirt design and sales, staffing the various posts, organizing the race classes and then drumming up participants by posting all over the friggen internet.
Anyone interested in the job?

name is andrew... i just had some ideas that i thought could make for more racing, and a car show at the same time to increase participation and $$$$$$! I plan on running my car next year, so i wouldnt be able to work any spots during the event but i would gladly help any way possible leading up to it!

I wish I had the skils to put this together,for I would gladly help get it going.
As for next year I will be sadly dissappointed if theres not more heads up racing. Watching bracket racing is about as boring as watching grass grow.

Jim Bishop asked if evryone was ready for 10 next year at the awards ceremony and the answer was a resounding YES!. The MM guys have taken over registration, website and shirt duties the last couple of years and Gassit has been using the race license to procure the the track for the event.
Last i checked there IS a car show in the lot ALL DAY LONG and trophies were handed out for best in show, best engine, etc.
this year there 2 heads up categories and, while i love watching the big dogs run, the 10.90 index cars would or could have been virtually the same class. i'm not sure how you can say that bracket racing is boring when the whole set up comes down to the driver nailing the tree and car running what you say, no BS. all else being equal both cars should cross the line at almost the same time. i've had races where i didn't know who won til i got to the shack for my slip. how is that boring?

Wow, I guess the one time show uppers know what to do. I guess the last 9 years have been a joke.
LOL not sayin that by any means, BUT if it doesnt take much to make it a bigger, and possibly better event why not try?

I am not saying it is an easy thing to do. I did not make the last eight time before due to deaths, work, and other life's unexpectancies. So back-off. If you don't want my input say so.

He seems pretty well informed to me. Attendance was down, the number of spectators dropped. I've heard that the orgainizors broke even thanks to good t-shirt sales.
