Hey all,

I know there has been some demand for a complete set of stainless steel ABS delete brake lines. I finally found someone willing to make them, but I have one issue. Don of Classic Tube said he could do it and would be able to provide special pricing for a group purchase type deal, but he would need a template to bend them from. I have no problem with doing this, but it may be a little while till my car is together enough to do this.

Is anyone interested in this, and would anyone be willing to help by creating a template? See the email attatched below!

Hell yeah!! I'd be down for a set but don't have anything I could provide Ina template though. Another company to contact would be inline tube if this does not happen with Classic tube. There was also some talk that the pre 91 boxy Caprice (85-90?) may work or at least route the same. I believe the fittings and flare type could be different though.

I seem to remember a recent thread where someone was also looking at doing Abs delete but can't seem to find it. T may have been Bill (NavyLifer) or maybe that was body bushings he was looking at getting done. Theses things start to blend together after a while.

This may be the thread I was thinking of....but based on the Author of it, you probably were already aware. :>)

Nice!

KDB50SS, so you have a complete set of factory brake lines? Are the RMS lines the same as the Caprice/Impala? If so, I'd be willing to buy them from you and start working to mock something up on my own car and tweak it according to what everyone wants as far as routing.

It may be better if someone with more time and a car that is fully assembled does the work though, but if we can't find anyone then I'll gladly do it.

BigBlackBeaSSt, you definitely may be able to help! If you have a complete set of lines, all you'd have to do is figure out a clean way of merging the lines to delete the ABS (do it however you like, obviously it doesn't need to be functional, just needs to have the shape/routing right) and then we can send it in to Classic Tube. i'll cover the shipping costs. If anyone is up for chipping in a few bucks to whoever does the mock up work maybe we a knock a few dollars off of their kit for the effort.

I have a BN set of SS lines from classic ready to go on. I can compare and bend up some copper tubing to impersonate the lines. I will see what I can do.

I was just going to ask that. Why not just bend something up using aluminum mock up rod? Back in the old days we built & fabricated aircraft tubes of varying diameters that way.

I'd be down for a set or two myself. ABS delete only or aall?

Bump, haven't heard back from anyone who has a car available to bend up the lines for.

Aluminum mockup rod would work great, I think it would be easier to start with a factory set of lines though just to save the work of having to bend up everything from the firewall forward (thinking that the only area that would have to be changed from factory is from the ABS block area and up).

Anyone up for the task? If not, anybody have a set of old B body brake lines they could sell me? I'd rather not be the one to mock it up, only because I am a little worried at what may interfere with the brake lines that I don't currently have installed (nothing on the front half of my car but chassis rails and suspension right now) but I will if nobody else comes through.
