because it is 9.5 verse the 13 inch which now brings down the cooling and makes the fluid hotter burns the oil quicker
n then it over revs the motor
those stalls are meant for racing

Find a new shop. These modern day high stall lockup converters will work just fine in your car.

I run a 4000 stall converter in a street car, with no heat issues.

JMO.

Stock converter is 12", not 13" = Further evidence you should consider another shop.

Well......I've driven over 100K miles with my 9.5" Yank converter.....about 50K or so mile in both the SS (when it was my daily driver) and the 9C1 that is currently my daily driver.

Further evidence (IMHO) that the others are right......find another tranny shop.......or do the swap yourself! Your best bet......find a buddy who's done a tranny swap and have him (or her) help you out ;) !

this guy willing to just install it. when i was there i saw alot of torque converter laying around and bunch of transmission. they do alot of work. they do this everyday so if i bring in the edge 3000 torque converter the installation should be the same as any other stall out there. just the result that he's thinking is wrong so i should be fine with this shop?

btw im the one that mention it's a 13" my mistake.

no issue with a 3000 TC ? any drivablity? MPG issue? check engine light? i want to be prepare for anything
Okay, stop.

what sherlock above me said..

The modern 10 inch converters WILL make more heat than a 12 inch but not like it used to be.

Anyone that tells you a 4000 stall converter wont make more heat than a 1200 stall is nuts.. But the problem can be mitigated with a good cooler and good converter technology.
