I own a 1991 civilian Caprice Classic with upgraded suspension. I hate the steering. It takes 3-1/2 turns of the steering wheel from lock to lock. I know there is a option that is 2-1/2 turns. I dont know what the 9c1 or Impalass ratio is or if it could be installed. Any response wold be appreciated.

Not sure on 9C1, but the SS is approx 2.5 turns lock/lock, and the ratio is correspondingly quicker (I've driven a Caprice with the "slower" steering).

And yes, it is a bolt-on

Nice car. Do you know if the pitman arm is the same?

I don't know about 91 to 93 9C1's, but I know my 9C1 has the two a half turns lock to lock, and it feels exactly the same as any Impala SS, so it shouldn't be a hard steering box to find.
