Sorry I dont know where to put this topic. Since its on the engine Ill put it here but I was wondering what is the steering mod? I heard about it somewhere you tighten or put in a hex bolt on something dealing with the steering that firms it up and is a cheap ass mod. Thanks if anyone knows.

Its not a Mod, its a fix for those of us with loose stearing due to the steering box being worn out.

There is an adjustment bolt on top of the steering box. It has a lock nut on it and then the top of the bolt turns after you loosen the lock nut.

So what I have been told is you loosen the lock nut, then take the bolt, loosen it as well (May work backwards from a normal loosen tighten)
But dont loosen it much, just to basically work the bolt around a little. Then you tighten the bolt until it is snugg then back off just a little (1/8th turn or so) Then tighten the lock nut and your all set. This will not fix severly worn out boxes (like mine) but for most of us it will work until the box gets real worn out.

The steering box is located on the left chassis rail. Just follow the steering colum to the end.

If your steering is loose, your front end could also be worn.

Ya my whole front end is worn I can move my steering wheel a good inch and a half before I feel the car move. And my whole front end squeecks if it is not all greased good.
