I haven't been able to fix the problem with my poppoing sound I describe in this thread. This problem may be related, I don't know. This noise is louder and therefore more irritating.
The loud clicking noise I have now always appear every revolution when the steering wheel passes "center" when turning it from right to left and never vice versa. It sounds as if the noise which I would say is plastic origins from the wheel itself or perhaps the shaft but I may of course be wrong. The only time it does not appear is when doing 80-90 mph on the highway. Any Ideas?

There is a clock spring right behind the wheel to supply power to your airbag, we replace them at work for the same symptom you are describing, I'd pull the wheel and check it

Thanks for the quick response. I will check it out in the weekend. What tools do I need to remove the steering wheel?

My SS made a noise/feel like that. WHen I would turn I could feel and hear a click/knock.
My mechanic said it is the centerlink, idler arm and inner tie rods are bad. So I bought all moog parts and Ill let you know if it goes away.

Try jacking up your car and move your tire from side to side. If it moves freely then something is bad. Thats what mine did.
