I've found a black '95 Caprice with 80k miles for $4,500.
(Thanks again to those of you who have run the VIN for me.) I'll be speaking with my bank tomorrow, and hopefully the car will be in my possession by the end of the week--unless they give me grief about the age of the vehicle. :D

I'm planning to remove the Caprice badging from the trunk. The chrome door & trunk trim is being removed. I'm replacing the gunsight on the hood with the LTZ badge. Planning to primer and paint the grille.

I'm not sure if I like the bowtie over the keyhole on the trunk. It'll be okay for awhile, but do you guys have pics of anything a little bit different that you've done to your ride or have seen done?

Also, are there any cheap/free exterior mods that I may have overlooked? This is going to be my beater, so I don't want to put a lot of $$ into her (yet), but at the same time, I don't want the chromed out grandpa-mobile either.

Thanks in advance,
Kris

I just got a 95 and im pretty new to this as well... but the first thing Im doing is installing the MOOG IDLER ARM (part # K6187T) MOOG CENTER LINK (DS899) and MOOG INNER(2) and OUTER(2) TIE RODS (ES2019RLT and ES2020RLT) the are also sleves but im not sure of the part # its ES2004S I think. I'm actually picking that stuff up tomorrow. Make sure you get the parts with the T at the end of the part # becuase it means that its the beefier model. I heard that it probably stands for "truck" but its sure to last longer than some of the GM **** in there. good luck with it. I know I'm loving my 9C1!!

3M makes some 1/2" trim tape that works real good in covering up the window trim and the wheelwell trim, thats what ive done. painting would ultimately be better, but im not out to win any car shows so it looks good enough for me. electrical tape might work, but isnt quite as weather durable and will turn to goo if it gets hot.

if you like the look of the impala grille, that bolts on easily. for the price i think it really changes the look of the car. i used some red reflective tape to cover up the bowtie on the grill, and also did this to the trunk bowtie.

taking off the caprice badging on the trunk is easy, but sometimes the glue behind it hardens up pretty bad and is a b!tch to get off. a hairdryer helps a ton.

you can remove the side trim by just heating it up and pulling it off.

you can also paint the chrome trim around the tail lights and the chrome doorhandles too. etching primer is needed but should work nicely
