SURVEY - Who is going to the ISSCA Nats? Why or Why Not?

Less than 3 months until the kickass ISSCA Nationals being held in Indy this year from July 3 - July 7th 2006.

Road race your car - show off your car - autocross your car - drag race your car - show off your cars audio system - it's all an incredibly fun time, you just need to go once to get hooked.

Even the people that just came to watch got caught up in the fever of competing in certain events. It's a little bit like B-Body heaven.

To sign up and get more information please go to: www.goissca.org

I was wondering who is planning on going and if you can't make it, I was wondering why?

Hope to see you there?

My whole family of 6 will be there! Just getting notice my wife will have off of work so I will be signing up. After the event, then we will continue the vacation for the kids... maybe the Lakes boating or something.

I hear July 2nd at Indy the F-1 race will be there.

Oh, and FWIW, my first impression of this year's event (occurred at the Pocono event) was we would be racing at THE INDY track but it is probably my ignorance they don't have a road course incorporated like Pocono does. Mostly nostalgia sake but I like racing on any road course.

BIG QUESTION: Will there be babysitting services during the road course and autocross events? I think that would be nice for those spouses that really want to watch - maybe a couple teenagers can get together to pick up some cash. Just a thought...

I'll be there!!!

Why?

1. Its great:

Its great to see all the cars, shiny with their latest mods.
Its great to go racing with fellow enthusiasts.
Its great to see old friends and make new ones.
Its great to hang out with folks you know only by keyboard.

2. Highway cruising:

The way I see it why belong to a car if you do not like long drives.
For some of us its a chance to stretch the car's legs on what it does best ...

3. Indianpolis

This will be my first visit.

4. Only Impalafest compares to this event:

Everything else is just racing or another car show.

I will be there. Was at Tulas, Vegas, and Pocono.

For ISSCA members, why are there not e-mails going out to each member promoting the event?

I have seen very little info coming out except for refernces to the web page.

Jose is taking care of that for me.
BTW I'm going because after 23 years in the Air Force, I'm retiring and I need a vacation even if it's not at Wally World.

A lot of East Coast members will probably miss out - it will keep me from going just as it has in the past. It's a great place to go but to pull the whole family out who supports my hobby but NOT at the expense of the yearly family vacation. Not saying there aren't any women that love the SS etc and are really into it like the testosterone junkies but the reality is it is like our wives pulling us (the family) out for a week of a national stamping party (yes, crafting cards etc with rubber stamps that cost $25 each).

I noticed not many from Cali etc came out to the Pocono's. Not many from the East Coast went to Vegas (people on the East Coast complained it was out west, hence Poconos). Now it is in Indiana, a "better" middle ground and I know many on the East Coast are going and noticed 'more' West Coast guys are coming to IN. Bottom line, we are really talking real estate and everyone knows the 1st three rules of real estate is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

That's what we're doing too. What a way to get the adrenaline primed b/f we jump into our 'hopped up' racers!

I'm all psyched up to go.

My car looks like doo-doo because I've been dumping all my spare coinage into my wagon to make it a reliable daily driver. $5000 now and I drive her daily.

Maybe I can start modding my Impala again now.

SSee ya "Back home again....In Indiannnnnnaaa!"

Not going, it was either the 383 engine or the trip.

I really wanted to go there and check everything-out. Plus, it’s a perfect opportunity to get to meet some forum members personally …… so you’re (put your nicknames here) :D

SSONIC and I have two teenagers (14,17) that babysit all the time and will be at the Nationals. They are always eager to earn cash and they will already be watching our third daughter that is five for us. They can watch the kids at the events or at the hotel.
