I just installed a tach for my 1994 Caprice LT1. I wired it to the ash tray bulb light... Didn't think that Id have to turn on my lights to turn on the tach lol. What can I wire it to so that it will work properly?

I suppose one could use that connection for the built in light. I'm assuming correct connection of the tach signal itself, and the ground. Pink wires are usually always hot in run/start,and off in off/acc...I'd tap into one of those AFTER verifying proper function...

The ash tray light is where you tap to get the tach instrument light to work with your instrument panel lights including the dimmer. You power the tach from an ignition switch hot accessory tap. Get the tach signal from oin A13 on the red PCM connector.
