That's the way i like it. I'm also planning on rebuilding the my Olds. This is a good example how to do it.

Blew the engine at RTTS. No regrets. Besides I got my money's worth out of that $400 engine and then some. More later when I am rested.

Already being considered.

Final pics before heading out to RTTS. Here are the aluminum hood hinges and final bumper mountings. Must be VERY careful closing the hood.

Where are you driving fast enough where you'll need diffusers? Just out of curiosity

Might want to see my other thread. Besides if you think this is about making downforce you would be wrong. They might but that is not my main focus. I am looking to get the air out from under the wagon better and smoother. look under a wagon and there is a ton of empty space behind the fuel tank and in front of the bumper. And the bumper catches all that air. I took out a good portion on the bumper and made it easier for the air to flow out. On top of that the rear of wagons is very poor aerodynamics because the airflow from the roof and that from under the car is so far apart. Makes it very hard for the airflows to blend back together. This should help some although it is far from done.

Chill out lol. Still hostile?

I understand the pockets of air it would collect. But I just don't see how it's going to help aerodynamics that much unless you're running it 75+mph constantly.

Sorry not hostile. But look at what you wrote. You said you understand there are air pockets. So you agree that that air is getting stuck under the car and therefore getting it out would be better right? You also say unless I am running at 75 mph or more. Well for one aero doesn't start at 75 mph. Aerodynamic effect is ever present. Stick you hand out at say just 35mph and see if the air doesn't push it around. And for every doubling of speed aerodynamic effect multiples by a factor of 4. And I will bet that you do 65-75 on the highway so there again it is useful. I would also say that track events like I did this last weekend where I did 100+mph it is helpful. So how is it not helpful?

Look what I did today. This is just the start of the piece to fill the gap between the nose and radiator support, cover the top of the rad support, and cover and support the top of the radiator.

I also removed my passenger side door panels. Stripped my door cards. And then put some fiberglass on them to stiffen them. I am going to have to decide how I want my door panels to look soon.

Ok I got a little more done to the radiator support cover. It is really coming along, Today I got the top part of the radiator done. There are a few spots I intentionally didn't do. I will get to them in finer detail when it's off the car. Once this sets I will remove it do some trimming and put a layer under it and then it should be plenty strong.

I have no idea why, but I just sat and read all ten pages of this thread.

I think I'm in love with a box.
