Hi L8,

I just redid my front end & it lowered from 27" in the front to 26". That is using the center of the wheel as the plumline, from the ground (level ground that is) to the bottom of the wheel well trim.

I wouldn't have minded a 1/2" drop, but this is too much. My trim is actually below the top of my tire (barely). Nothing touches when I turn the wheel too sharp, but it is lower than I wanted it. I was hoping that I had some sag in my stock springs with 100K on them & the new Hotchkis wouldn't drop me too much, but it dropped 1" just as advertised.

I am going to do my rears w/new shocks also, in a month or two. I just found out that we have a spring shop here in Ytown that will make springs to order so I am going to check them out tomorrow, hopefully.

Stretch, so stock height is 27 inchs, and dropping 1.3 of an inch is to much! I have 18inch wheels on my imapala and it sit about 28.5 inch. why do high!!

L8,

It might not be too much for you but it is too much for me.

I stopped at the Spring shop I told you about only to find out that they customize in leaf springs not coils.

Anyway, I am now going to finish my suspension work (for the time being) by installing the Hotchkis springs & Bilsten shocks in the rear. When I do that my front end will raise a little because at the moment my rake is greater than it will be after I replace the shocks & springs in the rear.

The front end will probably raise a 1/4".

I checked out Navy Lifers post & they probably cover all of you questions in there.

God Speed,
Stretch

I am trying new spring combinations now and can't get satisfied. I have dropped front and rear with Belltech and the ride is too harsh for my 94 9c1 daily driver. I went to 90 9c1 rears per Scott Mueller but it sits too high. I noticed the Hotchkis rear is a 1 inch rear for SS and 1 1/8 for Caprice. I need to go down about 1 inch, the belltech rear was 2. Have you tried the Hotchkis springs and what is the rear height?

I have a 7B3 front suspension. That explains why Global West springs only lowered the front of my car less than 0.5". Is this suspension lower than the one civilian caprices got?

i'm thinking of going with Koni shocks or Bilstein Sport Shocks and H&R spring package.. H&R spring or Intrax which is better!! H&R they Lower the front 1.6 and rear 1.3 inches or going with Intrax Springs 1.8” in the front and 1.6” in the rear.

I measue mine 29 inches all the way around this is too damn high I want my car lowered it looks like a dragster rear end up in the air. but im worried if I get lowering springs they could fall out because of the 9c1 shocks..
