Well it time for me to buy new tires. I’ve spent the last few hours searching for an answer in the tire sticky to no avail. So I figured I’d ask the question in the Roadmaster specific section.
I have Impala SS wheels with the stock 255/50/17 tires. I’m looking at going up to a 275/50/17. Will this size fit with the side skirts? I’ve several posts with this size on Impalas, Caprices, and wagons. Only found one post about a Roadmaster sedan and the size was only test fitted on the front.
thank you.

A 255 55 17 would be closer to your stock size, and fit without issue.
Thank you for reply. I’ve already looked at that size and there’s not much variety at all. Same as with the 255/50/17. I could only find 3 between both sizes. I’m not including china pops in the total.
There are a lot more choices with the 275/55/17 thats why I asked about this particular size. Just curious if anyone has fit them on a RMS and what if any trimming/rolling of the quarter wheel well is needed. I’m trying to lower my effective gear ratio for the time being for highway use with a good tire.

235/55R17 (27.17" tall)
235/60R17 (28.10" tall)
235/65R17 (29.03" tall) - this one assumes your car is not lowered

Yes they're skinny, but each of those tire sizes has at least 50 different tires to choose from.
Shouldn't be too hard to find a tire that performs well.

Appreciate the reply. My car is lowered by about an inch with QA1 coilovers in the rear. Really want to stay at least 10” to 10.8”wide. I have no desire for skinny tires. Thanks for the additional sizes.
