I need a trailer hitch. I will never tow anything over 3,000 lbs. At most a little 4'x6' utility trailer hauling some lumber or an engine.
Maybe a small 2600 lb camping trailer. Possibly a rear cargo carrier to haul a motorized wheelchair for a family member.

I think a 1 1/4" hitch with a 300lb. tongue wt. and 3,500 lb towing capacity will be enough. Don't think I need the larger and (harder to install?) 2" hitch.

Anyone know of a good 1 1/4 inch hitch available and where?

Hi

I bought the 1 1/4 hitch for my wagon to move my daughter form DC to NH. It pulled a good size U-Haul with ease! I bought mine from ebay, nice powder coated, US made hitch for I believe $115 shipped. I haven't seen him on ebay lately.

There is one on craigslist that the guy wanted $25 for, same as mine. You could pay him another $25 for shipping and still be way ahead of the game.
