Refugee posting from the Cadillac side of things... :ROFLMAO:

I have a '77 Deville that is getting a dual exhaust system.. the factory cross-member only has the clearance hump on the passenger side.

Would be nice to have the dual hump variety from the B/D body cars.

If anyone lives within 2 hours of Philadelphia, I'll buy whatever you have. Shipping these things is an ignorant process.. probably just meet up to do the deal.

Thank you in advance!

I have a couple of them.

I'm in the midwest, but I ship large items regularly. It is not too much hassle or too much money.

One of mine has already been sanded, primed, and painted. I will give you a good deal on it.

Eric is a longtime trusted member over at the Cadillac Forums. Isn't Nab from Philly? Hopefully we can find a local one for you, but Caddylack knows his parts and shipping if needed!

You can have a plate welded across the top of the left arm, and cut it out below the plate, then seal the open tube ends shut with scraps from the cutout.

For comedic value:

I just shipped a cross member to this guy for $11.95. How? I have no idea.

I questioned the lady at the desk. She checked the dimensions again, and said, "that's what the computer says".

The receipt says 2 x 2 x 30 for the dimensions, and 26 lbs for the weight. What on earth?

I have been taking packages directly to a UPS airport hub lately, and prices have been cheaper, but wow.

Does a 94-96 crossmember fit a 77 ?
Might be an illusion , that crossmember doesn't look kicked left side forward.
The 94-96 4L60E has the spaced back mount on the tail housing, does the 77 ??

Too late now but if you have a welder , for a straight across , I would use the 68-72 A body .
Chop ends off, two pieces of angle, done

Unfortunately, my garage isn't set up for heavy fab.. I've run a small 220V welder in the past doing this that.. fabbed some gates.. but even that was too much. Not too much work, just too much mess. I'm picking pieces of slag out of the fancy epoxy floor. Great idea of my welding skills, right.?!

The exhaust guys would probably cut/chop/weld in a hurry.. but, for what I'm getting the cross-member for.. no brainer!

The '77-79 Deville cross-member is basically straight across left/right of the body. I'll probably need to re-drill some mounting holes.. we shall see. Will report back.

Still running the stock 200r4 trans. Keeping the boat afloat.

I hate to be a bummer, but the cross member I sent you is not even close to straight across. As Gerry stated, the one side is "kicked" forward.

If it is like the '79 Caprice frame I put the '94-'96 crossmember on, you'll need to extend the passenger side mounting locations on the frame back about 6".

Is this your garage??

There is an AV receiver on the right side and 3 monitors up front? Lots of beautiful windows with French window panes.... Looks like a showroom floor!!

Yessir, that's the garage mahal. She has the house. I have the garage. Those are cabinets are off to the sides of the TV. It's a nice visual effect. From outside the garage, it does look like a monitor wall.

Great place to hang out. Lots of amenities including the full-blown theater sound system with a 15" Velodyne subwoofer. My neighbors don't think it's so great though. I like it loud, they do not, ha!

Well, nope, the cross-member I received won't work without a lot of fab. For starters, it's too narrow. '77 Deville distance from frame rail bolt to bolt is 55".

The received cross member is only 49". Would need an extension welded on to get to 55" and the kink is the wrong direction.

So, if anyone needs one in the future, I have a spare!

I was looking under a '77 Monte Carlo this past weekend at a car show, looks like it might be a better fit.

Confused. Need more help please :(
