well i have several friends that have done one or 2 transmissions sucessfully. so i think this will be a good idea to do plus from what i understand it is not terrible to do.

I wouldn't. There are more place's around that rebuild these things for a living that can't get them right !! Get one at the yard & keep your friend's as friend's.
