so.. Ive had two elemental designs 18" dual 4 19ov.2s for over a month now.. and finally got around to building a box in the 15 degree weather with snow coming down... and high winds... did I mention I dont have a shop or anything? My work shop is a concrete slab behind my house..so... on with the pics...
but Ive got a qtc of a little under .71, with some pretty serious bracing and reinforcement

yes its rude.... yes its crude... but it works (my cuts got messed up because I was in a hurry/cold/miserable, and tired.... and.. well.. Im still learning how to use my table saw well...

bracing/open top

holes being cut... (Im getting much better with my jig though)

now.. since I wasnt happy with the cut quality, I decided to go ahead and have some... fun

I went to white trash extravaganza (otherwise known as "Walmarts" here (yes, they say it with an "s" at the end) to find the gayest (but not too gay.. no mickey mouse/heart print stuff here) fabric I could, that was thick enough to cover the imperfections in my cuts..

and/........

tada..

here ya go... feel free to laugh.. I know I did (this was in a friends garage.. they asked me to come over for a bit.. do so I did... )

so... thoughts on the new setup

its loud... it screams...

the color that is

the subs sound great... with all the extra bracing in there, and the t-nut mounting I did this time, leaks are no problem (Im paranoid about leaks, as should be obvious by the copious amounts of caulking and closed cell weather stripping I used), and they sound great...

they hit the lows with ridiculous authority... songs like blue berry yum yum are actually uncomfortable in my car now.... I love it...

oh.. and the gains are set very very very very conservatively.. ther's a lot left here to play with.. and I like that

they actually hit the higher frequencies fairly well.... Id guess (no tones on me @ the time) that Ive set the crossover @ about 70 hertz, and Im getting no audible distortion from them @ that level...
I listened to some of led zeppelins "grafetti" and the musicality of the subs was aweome.... I was jamming out to the cd for about 30 minutes till I realized it was time to go to work...

Im excited to get off work so I can go and tune it a bit more.. and see what these things are really capable of

Biohazard UNcivilization @ full tilt should be fun

and I need to go back to Walmart"s" now to get some weatherstripping... my rear wing windows andd back hatch are rattling like a son of a ***** now....
which makes me :D :( at the same time

yeah...

mayeb soon though.. I think a move to Tulsa is in my near future...

I could actually go to inc meets then :D

Im going active this spring, and Im going to build a beauty board that stretches from the rear seats to the gate, at window level...
subs @ the back (in same box possibly) and amprack flush mounted into the beauty board... kinda like a really hugely tall false floor....
