Well, I had a very good conversation with VFN, they were very helpful and nice, and explained that they had accidently made a "price list review error", and due to the resulting “price list error” for the stock flat bolt on hood, they plan on compensating JohnRobbinSS (to what extent I do not know) due to their error coupled with the fact that he had already ordered and paid for the hood with the “price error” (incorrect price) listed. The “correct” GP price for the stock float bolt on hood is indeed $359.

See the below list:
91-96 Ram Air Bolt On Hood. Reg Price= $595.00, Group Purchase Price = $500.00 ($95 off)

91-96 Ram Air Pin On Hood. Price= $495.00, Group Purchase Price = $445.00 ($50 off)

91-96 Stock flat Bolt On Hood. Price= $399.00, Group Purchase Price = $359.00 ($40 off)

91-96 Stock Flat Pin On Hood. Price= $299.00, Group Purchase Price = $259.00 ($40 off)

That's why I bought mine when I was in Chi-town for a wedding. The $50 I didn't save on the GP, and the $40 I paid in sales tax got more than offset by not paying shipping. I'm still $100 ahead of the game.

If anybody within reasonable driving distance wants mine (stock appearing bolt on) I'm asking what I paid for it, $440.

I dont have a truck or anything to fit it in. I probably should've had it delivered to my father-in-law, he lives in Elgin, but still, how would I get it up here.

Guess I really was assuming it would be around 100 bux, not 2.:(

Mine arrived yesterday. The box was a little worse for wear, but the hood seemed to have made it through relatively unscathed.

I did a quick test fit and weigh. It looks like it will do the job. The stock hood weighed 50lbs once off and the new stock bolt-on hood tipped the scales at 20 lbs (unpainted).

I will have to wait until I can get more time to get it all to fit correctly before seeing how it behaves at speed with the wind hitting it. The center section of the hood is quite thin.

Hood fit pretty good, this is just a rough fitment before it goes to paint on tuesday.
Car is not clean, alot of dust and shavings from drilling and sanding.

***If your hood seems higher than the fenders in the middle and up towards the windshield, look at the corners by the windshield, you might have to sand them down so the dont touch or bind on the hinges.
I did this and it made the hood look alot better, needs some more info or pics on this, let me know.

I'm gonna get my wiper cowl painted and some new mirrors when I get the hood painted. Maybe ask your painter bout your cowls as well!!! Not alot of paint needed and the whole deal will run me $350 to get it all done, price jumped $100 ($250 for just the hood) to get the cowl and mirrors added.

Did you have to lower the hinge by loosening up the fender bolts or was it all done with trimming the corners of the hood?
Just had to sand the corners so they tappered, wasn't alot of play when hinges were loose.
Used a palm sander on each side, took 2min a side.
Make sure you read all the directions when you install this hood, they help greatly for ideas and what to watch for when installing.
I tried everything they suggested (remove rear weatherstrip) and adjusted what I could before deciding to sand the corners to a taper.

Awesome hood, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Hoods look and sound good! I totally dropped the ball on this one thanks to all kinds of holiday busyness. I'll have to give them a call and get one ordered up anyway and just pick it up this summer when I drive back through the midwest. VFN is about half an hour away from my parents place. I guess I'll kind of save on shipping? Haha

Looks sweet! Still finishing up my AI mods, then on goes the hood, and then off to paint. I will have pics, Dyno runs, and maybe some time slips!
