CARPETING ISSUES: your feedback is greatly appreciated.

1. I ordered a black carpet from stockinteriors.com, got it rolled up in a box. can it stay there for long without permenently damaging it (visible folds, etc)? I'm storing it indoors.
* seems like a good value: snap-on floormats included for about $230

2. I'm peeling off my dingy, coffee-stained grey carpet from my console:

Should I use mineral spirits or the citrus-based 'Goo-gone?' Either way, I'm nervous about damaging the plastic. It's not too flimsy, but I think the sun has weakened it over the years. I might be just too overprotective of my Black Bettie.

3. Where do I get replacement carpet to cut out and stick back on it? I heard to just grab something from AutoZone...

storing the carpet indoors should be fine because who who knows how long the carpet was stored in the warehouse before you got it. as far as the glue goes, goo gone will be fine for not messing up the plastic. and finding carpet for those triangangular peices should be fairly easy if your sticking to black. i know i have seen at the walmart by my house they have black carpet that is meant to be used in the back of SUV's but you could easily cut it and re stick it.
