[Fleetwouldn't You?]

Hey folks, I haven't seen any posts about these rubber bits on the Fleetwood (maybe on other models also) but it doesn't seem to leak where it's come loose.

Are they necessary and need to be replaced/repaired or can I get away with removing them entirely? I figured GM put them there for a reason so I'm hesitant to just peel them off.

Have one with the same issue. Many remove them ,and polish the chrome.

I contact-cemented a couple of peeling ones back into place before they broke and no problems since.

I'm torn between removing it all ,and continuing to repair it.

Yeah exactly my thoughts on it. I'll probably try to repair it and if it doesn't go well I'll carefully remove what's left of it. A big piece of it is totally missing from the driver's door and haven't had problems.

They are notorious for falling off. If is just the end, I use super glue. If it is a lot, I try to get a good one and replace it.
You can remove them, but to make it look right you must remove all of them.
