i have a 94 9c1 and im having the tranny rebuilt with wider kevlar bands,more steels/clutches,hd sunshell,trans go shift kit. etc.

now is the time to pick up a stall for it.problem is,is that i don't know what size to get.the motor is the stock 5.7.

im running 3:08's
also have a hypertech programmer to play with.

any help appreciated.i've spent my years with 5spd cars.

If you're gonna stick with the 3.08 gears, then get the tightest stall 9.5" converter possible, which will be in the 2600-2800 range. That will also cover you for a mild heads/cam upgrade in the future as well as a gearing change.
If you already have bigger plans for the car, let us know, and the recommendation will change.

gears may come later.and as far as the motor goes i may do some port work on a set of al vette heads and run a hotcam and lt4 intake and some good headers.thats about it.

the car already had a cai,underdrive crank pulley,new exhaust with h-pipe from the stock headers back.

im still a bit confused on the stall though.

lockup or non lockup?(i dont know the difference)

when running a 2800 stall will my tranny slip until 2800 while daily driving around town?how does it work??
