a good ride and lowered stance, yet still have a raked or slightly raked appearance with no sag?

I'm interested in the Vogtlands but they don't seem to be sold any longer and I also don't know if they sag or if they still let your car have some sort of a rake to it. I've seen pics of the Vogt's (Way2SSlow, Spartus) and they both differ in appearance. Way2SSlow's looks level and lower than Spartus's which looks slightly raked. I want the height of W2S's but with a rake.

The Hotchkis springs are just about the same but some people's cars appear to sit high or like they haven't been lowered at all. One person's rear looks like a 9C1's but the front is low and another person's car looks like it sits at stock SS height. Sorry for the length. Any suggestions?

Eiboch. They are progressive springs and leave a raked apperance. I wanted a all around lowered apperarance so I went with ST's. The rear sits even lower when I have a full tank of gas. I should have gone with a higher series tire in the front to take up some of the gap between the tire and the wheel well.

Here's a picture of his car with two other b-bodies. His is the white one.

Thanks. Does your car sit level? I live in the DC metro area so I don't wanna go too low (mean potholes sometimes). I figured 1.5" wouldn't be bad. I would go with the Hotchkis springs but they seem to be hit-or-miss with the appearance I'm looking for.

Actually, its the Hotchkis that seems to be pretty consistent. The Eibachs are hit or miss. After 1+ years, they have been know to start sagging.

Don't forget some are saying that the Voghts are Hotchkis springs in a different wrapper.

Maybe the setups you have seen had stereo equipment in the back? Maybe no spare? Etc.

I love the Hotchkis on my SS.

Here is my setup with a few different wheels. You can see the rake in the 1st pic. The last one is with the Subs in the trunk and a stock size tire. You can see the difference in how they sit when you look at the black powdercoated wheel.

If you want it low, go with STs or Intrax. If you want it driveable (as in, it's your daily driver and you don't want the frame hovering inches from the ground), go with Hotchkis. Others will chime in here and tell you they're in love with their "low" lowering springs. It's personal preference. I researched lowering springs for over a year for my '94 9C1- the three stated above plus Sprints and the Impala springs. Finally went with Hotchkis. For me personally, I wanted a dropped look, but didn't want to get too crazy. I think Hotchkis offers form and function. Just my opinion. Call Jason over at Street Trends. He'll take care of you. Good service at a good price. Ask for a discount. He'll work with you.

I'm runnin 9C1 springs up front missing ~1 coil and the moog cc627's in the rear, I love the way it looks with 275/40/17's and it rides just high enough to clear most things.

The car has a slight rake to it that you can't see too well in that pic,

dont buy ST that was the biggest mistake I ever made. They ride low, make the car look great and handle a little better, but they ride like crap.

The Eibach's will give your car a pretty harsh ride compared to the Hotchkis/Vogtland springs. I've had both on my car. The Eibachs used to give me some wheel hop while cornering.. I even felt the car bump-slide to the side several times while taking hard corners on un even surfaces.. I have yet to have that happpen with the Vogtlands.

The Vogtlands are still available.. You just need to know where to get them. Last I knew, the only guy selling them for the IMP was on Ebay... I have his Email Address if you want it. PM me, if that's the case.

The rake was too much for my friend Ghost, and he put spring clamps on the rear because he wanted the rear to sit lower. I would think about what Thump suggested because the roads are fairly bad in L.A. as they are in D.C. Intrax is what the last car on the right in the pic I posted has. It's almost like a "reverse rake" look where the car sits higher in the front and lower in the rear. I second the comment about the ST's. Great stance but a little hard on the kidneys. Also they aren't progressive springs. Also remember you car will always sit lower with a full tank of gas and a lot of junk in the trunk.
I did a lot of research before I made a decision on which springs to go with and I based my decision solely on stance.

I'm currently running ST's on my 95. I love the low-to-the-ground look, but it's not the smoothest ride in the world. They have definitely settled over the past coupla years.

And parking lot speed bumps and inclined driveways are murder.

Been thinking about new springs, too. I think I'll just bag it and be done with it.

For real? That ride seems fine to me... little bit bouncing when driving on the hwy....
You are right about speed bumps but if you have some common senses how to drive ur ss arcoss speed bump or incline driveway....should be no plm...no offense, clay.

BTW I have ST on my DGGM and i live in Austin...

PS....airbag will ride on ss lot better...had one of my dude on his wagon.. said he LOVEs it!

I'm in the process of changing my springs 2 ! i have intrax in the front which i'm happy bout, but not to happy with the rear which are eibach they're ok but i'd want an 1/2 inch lower and i think they're dropp is 1 inch ! so i may go with the vogtland springs just for the rear because all the hots springs on the cars that i've seen did'nt appeal to me! anybody wanna go halfs on vogtlands springs? i need da rears?
