Just another survey. What type of 1/4 mile times are you guys trying to hit this winter?

hey Jorge,

No stroker for me, just a stock 4" stroke BBC, bored out 0.062" to 468. Getting tired of messing with the PCM, never could get the tuning just right. How about them intake valves: 2.25" !!

AdioSS, as I mentioned, I'm doing no more mods to this motor. I would think that by now, most of the best combinations have been tried, and it's no longer a secret on how to make the Impala go fast :D

the goal is low 11.0's. Needs a complete new setup and engine but so be it. I have to kill that darn NOS Vette and claim the 6000$ street racing price money !

Heinz, driving his pimpmobile these days, ahh Caddy SLS power.......
G
Hey Heinz,

It would seem to me that your car already has the potential to run 10s!!!!
G
Y'all keep chipping away at these ET. I think it is very cool when track officials and even 8 second Pro Ford racers come over to see what in the world is propelling such a huge car into such low ETs. (in my case 12.6 @ 109)
If 12's and 13's impress the spectators, just imagine what 10's and 11's do.
Keep at it.

Karl
happy with 12's but wouldn't mind an 11

Hey Karl,
I'm with you. Its all perspective. With a refreshed tranny and new converter my best time Wednesday night was a 12.19 with a 1.67 60' time. I did have a 12.33 at 113.02 that made me feel better on the MPH. Made six passes on a terrible track night(80+ degree and 80+ humidity with sub 30 Baro). They only prepped the track once and that was my best run.
The real fun was a guy with a 2001 Viper that I ran heads up the last four runs and beat him all four times. He was catching me every run with a top speed around 116 but he couldn't get it together at the front half. It was a BLAST to beat him run after run!! :D :D That makes low 12's feel good! ;)

God Bless,
Keith

PS: Please remember to pray today for all the families involved in this weeks tragedies.

I bet that was cool. I am shooting for a 12.2 this year. I think the car had a 12.3 in it last season but the cool weather window here in Texas is a small one and I simply ran out of time. I got a bigger stall (4,100), new bigger slicks on 10" wheels, and airbags. Motor setup is the same. I'm trying to get my 60' in the 1.6x range like Keith.

My MPH will be much better now too. I know to run with at least 3/4 tank of gas to prevent pump starvation at the top end of the track. Last time I went I made almost 10 passes and they were all over 108 MPH, a few 109 MPH passes and one 110 MPH.

We'll see come October and November. Good luck meeting your goals guys.

Hey Andy,
We sure could use your car in the quicker classes at the TMCCC in Oct and Nov. Oct is at Kennedale and Nov. at Ennis.

I'm still amazed by this car - an itty bitty 350 pushing a tank DEEP into the 12's
Keep the pressure on those stroker guys, Andy :D

I love that low 12 car of Andy's too!
That is one well tuned package. To all who think Andy has a stroker, (no one on this thread but there are a few out there), I say get a life.
His 350 with 306 cammed monster is well able to keep up with the strokers, (and pass most).
12.3 should be yours Andy, in cool weather.
And even the 12.2 quite possibly.
I'm shootin for 12.6 with my 227 cam 350LT1 this winter. The right gears and stall is all that I need for that and I have the right stall and gears in the car now.

Have fun at ImpalaFest you guys.

Phil I plan to participate. My car has been on jackstands for months, that's why I've been such a stranger. It will barely be ready for ImpalaFest. I will be out there, I just try not to be too hard on the car in the heat.

I'm trying, believe me :D My car is just a bit more on the ragged edge than the other heads/cams cars. Anyone else can do it. Not many Impala guys want to drive with 12:1 CR, 4.10's, a huge, stinky, non smog legal cam, and a 4,000+ stall and that's the difference. We'll see this winter. Thanks for the compliment Pat!

Thanks Karl
I KNOW I don't have a stroker and that's all that matters. When my shortblock goes south anyone is welcome to watch me tear it down. Heck I can't afford $5K + for a shortblock, I'm still paying for the heads/cam! It's not cheap getting these boats to move quickly! Karl I think you can go much quicker now that your SLP converter in gone. With 109 MPH trap speeds you got more in her. Good luck!
