I am curious to see how the stock 4L60Es are holding up since i don't see any blown tranny posts from those that have done the swap. I think this will help others that are thinking of swaping too. So ill start.

96 SS (4,500+ lbs)
Stock LS1 motor and transmission
Headers, Raiss, and 3.73s
295rwhp 304rwtq= ET 13.9

Since then a new cam and springs went in. About to order a 4k stall and will get it tuned.
Estimating 360ish rwhp and high 12s

If concerned with "go fast" I would recommend a 4000 stall but if you have a daily driver. I wouldn't really go above 3600 with a good converter.

My Yank SS3600 to a SS4000 was a day to night difference.

I put down 415rwhp in my 93 LS1 shortbed pickup with a 3400 stall, (4300lbs) Trans lasted 3 months before 2nd gear went out. I beat that truck like it owes me moneycwm3, I put blue clutches and a performance rebuild kit, been drivin it ever since (1 year) to and from the track (6hrs round trip).
