Hi all,
I'm looking for new wheels / tires for my '94 Caprice wagon. I want to minimize any speedo changes, but at the same time have a custom look. I've looked under the "Wheels" section, but I am having a tricky time converting everything. I've got a pretty good idea of what I need for 15x7, but what about 16x8? What size tire would fit/work on a 16x8? How much do the 17" SS wheels affect the speedo?

Thanks, Mike

Bare,
That's exactly what I did, 255/55 Kumho 711's. Same height as stock for our wagons. I really like these tires too btw. They perform very well, and the price was right!

mike_tx,
There may be one hidden benefit of tires that are not the same height as stock. If you really want your speedo to be right on (not off by the couple % non-stock height tire could cause), PCM4less can fix that. Oh yeah, PCM4less has several other benefits too!

Thanks guys. I've been playing with the calculator. I'm going to start pricing a number of options and see where I land. I haven't decided the exact "look" yet, but I'm leaning towards Corvette rallye wheels (15x7 size, painted to match the car) or the SS wheels. I know these are opposite "looks", but I think both are cool. We'll see.........

You will need adapters for the Corvette rally wheels, as they are a different bolt circle size. The wagon is 5 on 5", and the Corvette wheels are 5 on 4 3/4".
Youcan adjust for different tire heights by reprogramming your computer. Reprogramming has other benefits too.

Wheel Vintiques makes them with 5 on 5"
