I am looking for a new set of 4x6's and 6x9's. What are the best ones out now? I am looking at rockford Fostgate and Infinity because i was told these are the best. Does anyone have any input on either of these? thanks

94, Your Profile States: 2 15" Farenheit subs with Power Acoustik 1,800 Watt Amp(not loud enough) . With 2 15"s and 1800 Watts, I Doubt It Will Matter What You Put In Because You Are Going To Have a Hard Time Hearing Them I'd Say Unless You Plan On Buying a 4 Way, 100 Watt Per Channel Amp To Drive The 4 New Speakers! I Have 4X6's In The Doors (Infinity Kapaa's) And 6X9 Infinity Kappaa's In The Rear Deck. My Next Plan Is To Yank The 6x9's and Put In 2-6 1/2 Kicker Free Air "Mid-Bass" Speakers In The Rear Deck (All The Bass I Need For Classic Rock) And a Set Of Infinity Tweeters In The C-Pillars. Alot Of Guys On Here Go With 6 1/2 Components In The Front Doors (Louder and More Sound Dispersion) And They Fit With Very Little Mod To The Door Panel! Id Say They Would Be Better For Your Setup Than The 4X6's Because They Can Handle More Power! Just My 2 Cents But I Played Clubs In a Metal Band For 6 Years In The Early 80's So I'd Like To Preserve What I Have Left Of My Hearing! :D ...Mike

I just put a set of Focal's 165V2's witch are 6.5's in the doors and I am very impressed with them. They play loud and clear.
You may find if you put 6x9's in the rear deck or any speaker for that matter that they will not last long with the subs in the trunk. The pressure from the bass destroys any speaker in my rear deck. I'm going to try and seal of the new set from the trunk because baffles do not work good enough.

I have Mb Quart 5 1/4 components in the front and Mb Quart 6x9's in the back. The tweeters and 6x9's sound great, but the 5 1/4's aren't real loud. I would recommend the Mb Quart 6x9's and Phoenix gold components for the front. Just my $.02

Thanks for the input. B-Body builder: The system i am running now is not all that loud. Power Acoustik amps are not very good. I am about to take the system out anyway and i might be selling it. So now i just want some clear and powerful speakers and maybe a small amp.

No Problem 94! My Profile Is a Little Old. I've Changed From a Rockford 4 Channel Amp To an Alpine 4 Channel (60 Watts Per Channel) And a MTX Crossover and an Alpine Head Unit! The Entire Contents Of My Stereo System And It's Plenty Powerfull Enough To Run You Out Of The Car!....Mike
