For wide band O2 tuning:
Where have you located your wide band O2 sensor bung? On the header pipe near the narrow band 02 sensor? In the cat-delete pipe?

So to minimize the chance of small gasket leaks adding air to the exhaust, it would be best to install the WBO2 in the header collector. (spoken like a 1/2 question 1/2 statement). And even better, to increase the chance that the WBO2 will read the same exhaust as the narrow band O2, then install the WBO2 as close to the NBO2 as possible.

Yes, that is part of my thinking .
Also can play with exhaust parts without having to redo anything.

I would have been a slight bit further back in the collector but my cats are right there

You likely know , sensors need to be "up" (10-2 o'clock) to prevent moisture collection.

My narrows are in that range, WB bung, near level because of floor.
Not optimal, but at least not pointing downhill.

Mine does not stay in the car so, likely not a major.

Yes I read in the bung directions 10 to 2 oclock or something like that just like you mention. To keep the condensation moisture from rusting the sensors.

Resurrecting the dead to ask about the 2nd choice location of in hook up pipes? I have Quad-1's and rather than remove them and go through all that hassle can I put the wide band in the hook up pipe?

Someday if I have to pull the headers for any other reason I'll move it but it is much easier and cheaper to get somebody to just add the bung to the hook up pipe.
