I am considering painting my '93 wagon and I might replace the wood grain or just remove it and paint it all. The local vendor that I have found for says he can only get the transfer in 8' sections. As you well know, the car is about 16' long with 8' on the end gate. Where do you get the longer transfer??

Never used them but had this on file from another member:

I don't see why you need that length. This is not grain matched like an expensive item of furniture, but pieced together. Do you really think the factory gave a hoot when they installed?

Stripeman - all the wood grain you'll ever need - mostly
It's been a while since I have been to that site, now they have specific wood grain for our cars. Looks like it would cost around $800+ (guesstimate) and the are about 30 mins from my house. I wonder how long their printed vinyl would last? My vinyl is shot and I was thinking about painting the woodgrain back on my wagon.

It is a good video.

Anybody see a paint treatment like this close-up? (Does it look as good as it does from 6 ft?)

I still *think* I favor the 3M approach, but the water based paint's an alternative that it's nice to know is out there.

Don't get my eye twitchin', Whyle! Mine are still in grade school and the prospect of 60 hour work weeks in my "golden years" is a little intimidating.
