Hey y'all,

I'm in need of at least 1 9c1 width rear axle in good shape with no bend or pitting where the bearing rides. I'd take 2 if ya got em. Let me know, thanks!

Pretty sure I have 2 or 3 used ones and I think 2 NOS ones in my storage but it would be Saturday before I could go look for you.

Awesome! No big rush, next track event is a month out. I'm gonna look into aftermarket options as well. Not sure if these just fatigued over the last 23 years/191k miles, or if I'm now just pulling to many G's on the corners 😂😂

Ok cool but before I drive 40 minutes out to my storage how much are you looking to spend on them?

You can get a pair Moser axles for about $260 plus shipping (about $30-40). The bearing surface is supposed to be 30% stronger than the stock ones.

Ok I went out to my storage over the weekend! I have a pair of used axles both from the same car. A single used axle and a pair of NOS ones.

Thanks Fred and Mike!
Fred: Moser option is great and I will consider, but cost is a concern, as I have to replace the radiator and still afford the next few track weekends.

Mike: All are 9c1 length? Used ones smooth on the bearing face? Straight?

What are you looking to get for them? Feel free to PM me if you prefer. Thanks for checking and sorry I didn't check back in on the forum sooner!

Tried to PM but your box is FULL!

Mike:

Yes almost all my Caprices were 9C1's so that is what I have parts for.

Used ones smooth on the bearing face?

Yes they are. They came out of a 1994 New York PD car that sat for 10 years in a swamp I think considering how badly the bottom of the car was rotted but it had a near perfect interior and only 94K miles on it. I tossed the housing but the axles are near perfect and the ring & pinion was in excellent shape as well. In fact I used that ring and pinion and posi in my 9C1 Caprice and it never failed me in over 10 years from beating on the car.

Straight?

Yes. They do not twist and bend until you put slicks on the car and I am sure the Police never used slicks on it! LOL

What are you looking to get for them?

As much as I can and still make you happy about what you paid! How is that for an answer? They are super nice so I don't want to give them away but then again I do want to help you out so what are they worth to you?

Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

OK here is your PM.

No biggie but I sure hope we make a deal so I did not waste all that gas and time to go out and get these. (I should not admit this because it shows old age is setting in but I was 1/2 the way to my storage when I realized I had not brought the keys for the door and I had to turn around and go back home to get them! DOH!)
