Been having a mildew smell in the passenger compartment. Found moisture in trunk! Trunk gasket is there, so I can't figure where the moisture is getting in. Help!

Search for "water trunk" or "trunk leak."

Gently pull on the trunk gasket to find the problem spot, because it's loose somewhere; could be the adhessive failed or the lip that the gasket adheres to is no longer straight. It's probably not the gasket itself, but I don't want to rule that possibility out. Does the gasket have high/low spots (i.e. look wavy)?

Otherwise, (IIRC) the issuse is with the rear window channel.
Something like that, but you'll have to search for more details on the one...

hope that helps

I strugled to find a leak on my 9C1's trunk area, after replacing the trunklind weatherstripping. I found it with the help of my Dad using the garden hose while I was in the trunk with a flash light.

I had a leak behind the right tail light. There is a vertical seam, and the seam sealer was cracked, and allowed rain to slowly drip into the trunk area.

If you can get a helper to use a garden hose, that would be the best bet in finding the source.
