Alright, this probably sounds like a silly question but sense I can only cut them once and not "un-cut" them i figured id ask first. I have hotchkis front springs and the hotchkis front bumpstops which are about 1" shorter then stock bump stops. I picked up some ZQ8 gen 2 bump stops, so should i cut them to match the height of the hotchkis bumpstops or leave them alone? Based on your experiences with them

Thanks!

Install them first uncut, and see how much (if any) contact they make with the frame first.

Ideally, you want the ZQ8s installed so they are just BARELY touching the frame (or even a slight bit of clearance) at rest.

If I had to make an educated guess, you're gonna wanna install them eventually with maybe 1/4" (if that) cut off of them.

Like Ed said, barely touching frame would be ideal. But I would lean a little more towards more contact than less to maximize bumpstops affect. My SS sits on 2" drop ST's so I can't afford too much vertical travel. I cut the top cone shaped portion off the top of each bumpstop so they're flat. And they still make contact with frame as you can see below. Slightly "impregnated".

I have the same springs and cut them so I have about 1/8-1/4" gap between the springs. They made a big difference over those short Hotchkis stops!

I don't have these bumpstops (yet), and don't really have any experience with suspension parts, like what bushings are made up of.

But I was curious what you guys/gals are cutting this bumpstops with? Imagine they are pretty easy to cut.
