RMS Door swap to 9C1?

I'm pretty sure they'll fit, Question is will the PWR side mirrors work or am I going to have to pull the wiring out of the RMS? Has anyone done this? tia.

95-96 swap is not as easy as the 91-93 swap 94 swap is similar to the 95-96 swap except for the mirrors.

In a 95-96, if you want to use the Roadmaster door interiors you are good to go. If you are going to use the Caprice doors, you are going to have to change the wiring, because the RMs have different connectors for the switches. There are also two standoff mounts you have to remove from the 94-96 RM door panels for the Caprice panels to fit. You have to install the nylon nuts for the door pulls, and you have to install the arm rest support on the RM door. 94s are the same as the 95-96, but they have the 91-3 mirrors.

91-93s swap out without any changes into a 91-93.

So mine's a 1994 9C1 and no PWR side view mirrors, 96 RMS doors and int door panels are being used. Question is does the 94 9C1 have the wiring harness to plug and play so to speak.

You will be removing the wiring when you swap doors either way. You have to put the 9C1 wiring back into the doors, because you do not have the cross car harness from the RM. If you get the cross car harness from the RM, it will include the rear door wiring, and that would require rewiring for your 9C1 switches. The outside mirror for the 96 doors is not mounted on the door, and you will have to use the 96 mirrors. I think the connector is the same.

If you are using the Roadmaster door interior, you are going to splice ALL of the connectors for the outside mirror, door lock, window and seat switches on both sides.

If you are going to use the 9C1 interiors, you are going to remove the two interior panel mounts at the top, install the arm rest support, and the nylon nuts for the straps. You may have to use the mirror control from a 95-6 if you are using the 96 mirrors and a 94 door panel, if the connectors are different.

The courtesy light has the same connector, but the speaker connector may be different. The mirror control switch for the RM interior panel may be different, or may just have a longer cable.

Thanks Fred, sounds like fun! At this moment I have 92? RMS Int. door panels which are very close to 94-96 Caprice dr panels. They work great but would be nice to have 95-96 pwr mirrors for extra comfort. Gots some wiring to do!

The only difference between the 92 RM and 94 Caprice door panels is the top front panel. If you can swap them, you can use the same connectors, and it will fit the end of the dash correctly. You will only have to remove the top mounts on the door and attach the arm rest support.

The Caprice door wiring that you remove from the original door to swap the doors can be installed in the 96 door and everything will connect without changing any wiring or connectors.
