obd1 code 15

My 93 caprice is throwing code 15 low coolant. I've changed the intake air temp sensor cuz it threw that code. But when the car is cold it's still hard to start. I thought it was the coolant temp sensor but my gauge is working still. Any ideas.

The coolant level sensor is on the passenger's side of the radiator about 6 inches from the top, under the trans cooler line. The gauge sensor is on the driver's side of the engine between the #1 and 3 cylinders. The IAT has nothing to do with the coolant temp or level.

If you are going to start working on your car, get an FSM, or at least a Haynes manual.

I've got a Haynes manual. Just didn't know exactly where it was. My manual talks more about.the lt1 then the lo5. Thanx for the info though that's what I was looking for.

Ok fellas I really need help with this still haven't figured it out. So here is what is exactly going on. My 93 caprice 305 started running bad and check engine light came on so I read the codes. Code 15 (coolant sensor or circuit/ low temp indicated) and code 23 (intake air temperature (iat) sensor circuit). I changed the intake air temp sensor. That code cleared. Changed plugs wires cap rotor coil and thermostat. It was time for a tune up. Then went to change the coolant sensor on the left side head and the new one is different. The prongs where the pigtail plugs in isn't the same. It plugs in but now my temp gauge doesn't work. I've checked every parts store in town and they all have the same sensor that isn't the same as the one I pulled out of my car. But when I put the new coolant sensor in the code went away and my car ran great but temp gauge wasn't working. Does anyone have any idea of where to get the right sensor or do I need a dif pigtail. And will changing the coolant temp sensor on the intake next to the thermostat housing fix it. Please I need help asap my impala is in my body shop and I'm stuck with one car.

The temp sender for the computer is the one on top of the intake manifold. The one on the side of the engine is for the gauge. They are different. Check with Rock Auto. If I recall, the one for the gauge has a larger sensor end on it.
