kind of excited...just got my 4th B - 96 caprice b4u from south texas with 62k, mostly one owner for 19 years. got some work to do but should be fun. had a 91 9c1 used, 96 9c1 New, used 96 roadie, and now this one. gotta get the maintenance up to snuff but should be good for a road trip to the west coast in a month or so. I've been on this site and predecessor since it was just a messaging set up. used to rush home from work to see what hawkeye or mueller was saying....

dang, deal just blew up It had all windows off track and a/c didn't work which was ok. but, just found out it had oil seeping from front main seal - thats no good cuz even if you replace the seal, the crank is likely grooved and it will always leak. I'll post info in craigslist finds if anyone wants to deal with it. drat.

Sorry the letdown. Window grommets and A/C all rather meh as you say. You positive the leaker weren't just a (all too commonly) botched Opti replacement?

\'96SS SOB: SSRI, Herter Tune, Tri-Y II, , 3000 Edge, F/HO bars, METCO extendeds with CV MMC, Bilsteins, currently Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (315/35 rear). Finally, wait for it... LT-4 knock module!
\'96FWB BUW-Butt Ugly White: PCMPerformance tune, HDFA w/ swissed filter, 1/2 SLP s.s. catback with H- and Flow Super 50s, oem opti rebuilt 3 times, SS Bars, METCO LCA, Airlift 1000, Monroe SS, PowerTrax No-Slip, CTS wheels with +1 rubber. Finally, yes again... LT-4 knock module!

not without looking...but, it only had 62k and would be unlikely to have had a new opti installed. I figure the oil wasn't changed very often and grit got in to do the job.
