1996 Chevy Caprice classic 5.7l

I have a Chevy caprice that is urking and jerking during cruise and it doesn't happen all the time I have read the threads bros and maybe a woman lol .. I changed everything but the fuel pump and the opti



Can someone please tell me what this is ?
And can it cause misfires, and fuel problems if bad ?

Those are part of the opti's ventilation system,and appear to be installed correctly. These are not good cars to throw parts at hoping to get lucky. You'll end up replacing a lot of perfectly good parts,and not solve the problem(s)...

I touched it and it smelled like gas kinda
I noticed when my car stalled ..it smelled like gas too.

My mind was a terrible thing to waste

Did you pull any codes in the computer?

Fuel filter was changed ....
I try to start the car and it stays with a higher idle I have to keep pumping the gas to get it to stay on .... it used to just jerk at cruise speeds now it don't start at all

My mind was a terrible thing to waste

I would check stupid easy stuff like MAF and water pump sensor that is in the pump to verify functioning properly.

Andriod phone with Torque app, and a bluetooth dongle and you can monitor many car sensors.

Other things you want to rule out :
What is fuel pressure ?
And are you getting Hi and Low res signal to the opti ?
